This game is an example of a partially observable system that involves an element of chance introduced by the roll of special dice and an element of strategy (the strategy being the pawn the player decides to move after the roll of the dice). While traditionally played with 4 cowry shells. Players will learn to be patient as they wait to take their turns and utilize that time to plan their moves. It is an interesting and fun way to develop strategy and counting skills.
